Translink has released the latest numbers on how many people use the Golden Ears Bridge.
Traffic has gone up 12 percent during the first three months of 2012, compared to the same quarter last year. That’s about a quarter of a million more crossings or about three quarters of a million more dollars in tolls. But the bridge still came in under revenue targets last year.
One Metro Vancouver Mayor says another number would show a better picture of how well the bridge is being used, “One has to ask, what is the capacity of the bridge? What did they build to? What were the numbers they were looking at when they built the bridge.”
That’s Delta Mayor Lois Jackson.
