Labour Minister Margaret MacDiarmid says sawdust appears to be a common factor in the explosions that leveled sawmills in both Burns Lake and Prince George, so all sawmills in BC will be issued an order effective immediately to conduct top to bottom safety inspections of their facilities.
MacDiarmid also says a meeting will be held in Vancouver tomorrow with government, Worksafe BC, the united steelworkers and the council of forest industries to discuss the issue.
