Despite being rebuffed by the BC Utilities Commission, smart meter opponents say they aren’t going away.
Earlier this week, the commission ruled against ordering BC Hydro to stop installing the meters over its provincial mandate and privacy concerns.
Sharon Noble, with the Coalition to Stop Smart Meters in BC, says the commission didn’t give their concerns their due diligence.
“We’re not going to stop. Even if the B.C. Utilities Commission refuses to hear this appeal, which they might, we owe it to the British Columbians, we owe it to ourselves to keep fighting on this.”
She says the group plans to appeal the decision, adding the entire issue deserves a public hearing.
