Halloween revellers beware on Transit

Transit police have a warning if you’re planning to use transit on Hallowe’en:  leave the costume accessories at home i.e. the plastic swords or other similar ‘weapons.’

Spokesperson Anne Drennan says the warning is based on an incident a few months ago;

“a dodgeball team was attending a tournament in Richmond they were at the Yaletown Station and they were dressed as gang boys and one of the young men had a very realistic-looking replica handgun and was fooling around with it in public and then tucked it into his waistband before boarding the train which caused a citizen to call in a man with a gun call.”

Drennan says masks are okay to wear as long as they’re part of a costume.
