Hillcrest says Park Board behind money missing in minutes

Minutes obtained by CKNW and never posted online by the Hillcrest Community Centre Association appear to show the books are short some money.

In the minutes of a meeting on August 23rd it says an audit has found close to 30-thousand dollars missing.

But Chair Jesse Johl says things aren’t how they appear and it is actually a fiscal oversight by the Park Board.

“Basically it was money that hadn’t been remitted to the association and they were you know very very late some of it was almost a year past due but the matter was brought to their attention and they admitted yeah it was late and they quickly paid up.”

As for why the minutes were never posted online Johl said it is a Volunteer Board with a lot on its hands but he would make sure they get posted.
