Four people are homeless after an early morning fire in the 12600 block of Old Yale Road in Surrey.
Battalion Chief Lorne West says Firefighters had trouble entering the house because there was so much junk piled up inside, “It was a three floor residential structure fire that had become a significant hoarding issue and that made it quite a challenging fire. That’s essentially why it became a two alarm fire.”
Battalion Chief Lorne West says the cause of the fire — which broke out around 1:00 a.m. — is under investigation.
Residents are suggesting a candle started the blaze.
