Huntingdon gets Rotary Club’s latest playground

Media will always have to report on the tough stuff. But we know that Canada is full of compassionate individuals, inspiring projects and stories worth celebrating. Here’s just one.

The Rotary Club of Abbotsford wants kids in Huntingdon to stay active and have fun at a new playground in the ’hood.

It has now helped with funding eight playgrounds around Abbotsford since 2003.

As a rapidly growing community with many families, the Huntingdon neighbourhood was an ideal location for the latest playground site.

The Rotary Club hopes that this playground will contribute to a healthy and active lifestyle for local and visiting kids alike, but its more immediate effects have been pretty rewarding too.

As the Rotary Club of Abbotsford’s Dorothy Van der Ree said, “The smiles on the faces of the children and their enthusiasm for the equipment are certainly heartwarming for us.”
