A website glitch has BC Hydro issuing a warning to customers who paid their bill by credit card.
Spokesperson Jennifer Young says credit card information was not being encrypted.
She says customers who notice something awry with their statement contact BC Hydro.
Young says the glitch was on a third party website and has been fixed.
“We would want to investigate if there had been any double payment or anything like that but again we are not aware of any breach of customer account or credit card information and we would like to reassure customers that the system is safe and secure.”
She says a very small number of Hydro customers pay their bill by credit card.
