ICBC union stepping up job action

The union representing ICBC workers is stepping up its job action in its labour dispute with the government.
Local 378 vice-president Jeff Gillies says workers will no longer take part in internal training and performance manangement programs.
Specifically – training on the government’s transferring the issuing and administering of care cards from Health Insurance BC to ICBC.

“They’re important projects to ICBC, but we have some important issues at the bargaining table that we’d like dealt with.”

Union members stopped working overtime last week, as the first leg of job action.
They have been without a contract since 2009.
