It wasn’t gang-related.
That’s what police are saying after confirming the identity of Surrey’s latest murder victim.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation team says he was 21-year old Noel Jackson, a young man from Ontario who had a criminal record in that province and had recently moved to BC.
He was killed in the 12400 block of 70th avenue early Thursday afternoon, but investigators don’t believe the shooting was linked to the recent escalation of gang violence in Metro Vancouver.
