Hundreds of metres of tulle (the fluffy tutu fabric) and endless hours went into Olga Vysotska’s Black Swan inspired collection that hit the catwalk Tuesday at the Vancouver Community College annual fashion show Fiat Mode / XXIV.
“It’s been so much fun but a lot of hard work so it’s nice when you see the final show and really feel proud of yourself,” Vysotska said.
Twenty-eight students sent their designs down the runway – a finale of their years in the VCC fashion program that will hopefully open career opportunities from industry onlookers.
Karen Wilson, communication and marketing manager, could not have been more pleased with this year’s turnout of more than 600 attendants.
She works on various VCC events but said Fiat Mode is the pinnacle.
“This show is of incredible stature,” she said. “It shows how great the people in the program are.”
