Vancouver mayor Gregor Robertson was among a dozen or so politicians from across Metro Vancouver who took part in a half-day clinic on fighting fires Monday.
The course, put on by the Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services (VFRS), let officials try their hand at putting out a car fire and climbing through a tunnel in full firefighter gear to simulate crawling through smoke.
The event was held at the VFRS training yard in East Vancouver.
