Independent office investigates Surrey shooting

The “Independent Investigations Office” has been called in to investigate part of a double shooting in Surrey shortly after midnight.

RCMP a masked man shot a 35-year-old woman in the carport of her home near 63rd Avenue and 127th Street at 12:21am.
He then took off.

The woman’s wounds to her hands and shoulder are not life-threatening and her 10-year-old son who was with her at the time wasn’t hurt.

22 minutes later, an RCMP cruiser pulled over a van for a routine traffic stop on 24th avenue near King George Boulevard.

When the officer was walking back to the van he heard a gunshot; the driver had shot himself in the head.

He was rushed to hospital near death.
