The protest is over – for now.
That from B.C. Federation of Labour boss Jim Sinclair, at the end of a 24-hour “sit-in” at the Kitsilano Coast Guard station.
Sinclair was joined by almost a dozen others, as they fight the Harper Government’s decision to close the base next year.
“I think the key to this is the Conservative MPs. I think that if they go back along with James Moore and say this isn’t worth the political fallout we’re going to take for this. It is after all, about politics, not economics. I think that we have to convince them that they’re going to pay a heavy price.”
Sinclair wouldn’t say exactly what the next course of action could be.
