Landslide victims formally identified

The B.C. Coroners Service has confirmed the identities of two victims from last week’s landslide at Johnsons Landing.

Four people are presumed dead – but only two bodies have been recovered, so far.

Now, using visual and dental examinations, the coroner has confirmed the identities of 60-year-old Valentine Webber and his 22-year-old daughter Diana.

After six days of searching, the bodies of Webber’s 17-year-old daughter Rachel – and 64-year old German tourist Petra Frehse have still not been recovered from the debris.

The Coroners Service says it’s still assessing whether to continue the search for more remains.
