Langley undeveloped property sale cancelled

The Township of Langley council has split the difference in a controversy involving undeveloped property in Glen Valley.

Mayor Jack Froese says nearby residents wanted the land untouched.

“There were basically eight lots that were put up for sale.  There’s three on the western lands and five on the eastern lands, and the three on the western lands were the ones that people were very concerned about just because of the trees in there – the nature of the trees – so those three have been removed from the sale offering.  The other five are still on the sale offering.”

Froese says the 21 acres will be folded into another park adjacent to the property.

He says the other five lots for sale aren’t getting acceptable offers so far and won’t be auctioned off in any kind of a fire sale.
