Latest on search for Joy Zhang

The search for Joy Zhang is now in its third day.

Volunteer search and rescue teams are back at Sasamat Lake in Port Moody, combing through the forest for any sign of the 21-year old — who has the mental capacity of someone half her age.

Search manager Michael Coyle says the woman’s parents are also helping out.

“They’re helping by walking through all of the parking lots calling for her — in the hope that her mother and father’s voice would trigger her to respond.  That’s one of our worries — that she’s not responding because she’s afraid.”

Coyle adds all of the trails in the area have been searched.

“No we’re going to be concentrating on the bush between trails, based on the fact that we didn’t fin her on the trails after two days of searching.”

Zhang was separated during a group outing over the noon hour on thursday.
