Liberal candiate replacing ousted MLA John Slater speaks

It is official an Oliver City Councillor, and former Mayor, will replace John Slater as the BC Liberals candidate in Boundary Similkameen.

In light of the controversy of the Liberals ejecting John Slater, Linda Larson says she would have preferred a better route to the nomination.

“That is true but I think you know controversy is one of those things that is going to find you somewhere if it wasn’t this issue I am sure there is going to be others. I firmly believe knowing all of the background that the party has made the right decision both for John and for the people of this riding.”

Larson says she has some concern about vote splitting with Slater running as an independent.

Marji Basso will run for the NDP, while the BC Greens and BC Conservatives have yet to name candidates.
