Man accuses gang unit of unfair treatment

A community activist alleges police told him to leave a Cactus Club in Abbotsford, and then cuffed him after he politely disagreed.
But the Chief Officer of the Gang Enforcement Unit has a different version of events…
Appearing on CKNW’s “World Today Weekend,” Mo Dhaliwal suggested that he ended up in a police car after getting kicked out of a Cactus Club for no reason.
Chief Officer Dan Malo says Dhaliwal was an aggressive drunk.

“At one point it became an officer safety issue. We’ve had situations where a group of people then start turning on police officers, and that’s what was starting to happen.”

Malo says the restaurant manager has filed a three-page statement backing up the cops.
The incident happened on June 2nd, but Dhaliwal has yet to make an official complaint.
