Man celebrates New Year’s Eve in jail after robbing Burnaby gas station

A 23-year-old man is spending the first day of 2013 in jail after stealing a few cases of red bull from a Burnaby gas station.

RCMP Staff Sergeant Steve Crawford says the man kicked out windows at the Chevron on Canada Way just after 11 on New Year’s Eve, claiming he had a gun.

“Integrated lower mainland police dog service attended along with Burnaby RCMP members.  They did a fairly short track, and located the suspect.”

Crawford says the man has a history with police, and is known to be armed and dangerous.

He will remain in custody pending charges.
