SURREY, B.C. – Surrey RCMP say the man injured in the latest shooting in that Metro Vancouver suburb is known to them, but they are releasing few other details about the Tuesday night attack.
The victim has been taken to hospital with what is believed to be a gunshot wound to the back.
Officers were called to a home at around 10 p.m. to find the man on the lawn in front of the house.
Witnesses reported hearing numerous shots and a car in the driveway of the home appeared to have been hit several times.
Inspector Dan Splinter says the attack does not appear to be random but no suspects have been identified and it is too early to link it to gangs or drugs.
A 31-year-old man was killed in a shooting in North Surrey on Sunday night and two men have died and two have been severely wounded in three targeted shootings around Metro Vancouver since the start of the year. (News1130, CKNW)
