The forecast called for rain, but the sun was shining brightly as ‘Man in Motion’ Rick Hansen wrapped up his 25th anniversary relay today in Vancouver.
The international champion for spinal cord research was greeted by thousands of supporters at Terry Fox Plaza outside BC Place, the same spot where he was greeted in 1987.
“Twenty-five years later, here we are at this magic moment. This world is small, it is connected, we are the same and we should never ever forget what an incredible gift. Lt’s never give up on our dreams you guys. Thank you so much.”
The first “Man in Motion” tour was world-wide over two years.
The anniversary trek across Canada lasted nine-months.
