Mentally ill man not criminally responsible in deadly attack

A 28-year old man who killed his father and seriously injured his mother while in a pyschotic state last year has been found not criminally responsible due to mental illness.

Jordan Ramsay, who has been suffering from schizophrenia since he was a teenager, attacked his parents while they were sleeping in North Vancouver home on November 5th.

He later reported he attacked them because he believed they were imposters who had already killed his parents.

A BC Supreme Court judge has now determined he was, and still is, suffering from a mental illness.

He could be hospitalized after a psychiatric review board has a chance to examine all the evidence.

Ramsay’s mother has already been moved back to Saskatchewan, where the family lived before moving to BC last year.
