Michael Dunahee disappeared 22 years ago today

It’s been 22 years since four-year old Michael Dunahee went missing in Victoria, and police in the province’s capital say their investigation remains active.

It was a case that captured the attention of the province.

A young boy seemingly disappearing into the ether just metres from his parents.

Now on the 22nd anniversary of Dunahee’s disappearance, the Victoria Police Department says it still holds hope that one day it can help find a resolution.

“We certainly still do get tips. We follow up every single one of the ones that come in and it’s certainly something we’ve been putting a lot of time and effort into.”

Constable Mike Russell says the anniversary is a good reminder for parents to remain vigilant, and for members of the community to pay extra attention to posters which display missing children.
