Money for CLBC may not be enough

The BC Government Employees Union is applauding the cash infusion into Community Living BC but they are concerned it may not be enough.

Union President Darryl Walker says as far as funding, what they have recommended is, “One time, 70 million infusion and then 35 million a year.”

Walker says the Government needs to keep the concerns of the people who need CLBC’s services as a top priority and not just throw money at the problem, “There (are) a number of people who are on, whether it is a waiting list or whatever you want to call it, whose needs still need to be seen to. So we ar pleased with what has been done so far. But this, I don’t think, is the end; there is more to be done yet.”

The Government announced CLBC will be re-organized and will also have a 40 million dollar boost to the bottom line.
