Money for two new schools

The BC government is spending 26.7 million dollars to build two schools in Vancouver.

The seismically unsound General Gordon Elementary on the  west side will be replaced at a cost of 14.7 million dollars.

In addition, 12 million is going toward a new school in Vancouver’s International Village.

V-S-B chair Patti Baccus says a school for that growing neighborhood is long overdue.

Both schools will open in the fall of 2015.
