Moore has doubts about Enbridge

Senior BC Conservative cabinet minister James Moore says he has doubts about Enbridge, the company behind the proposed Northern Gateway pipeline.

“I believe in getting Canada’s energy products to world markets, and I believe that’s in Canada’s interests and I believe that’s in British Columbia’s interests. But this project will not survive public scrutiny unless Enbridge takes far more seriously their obligations to engage with the public and to answer those  very legitimate questions about the way in which they have operated their business in the very recent past.”

Enbridge had another oil spill this past weekend, in Wisconsin.

And it was hammered by American officials over its response to a massive spill in Kalamazoo a couple of years ago.

Moore didn’t answer the question when asked if BC should be getting a larger share of the potential benefits, one of the demands made by Premier Christy Clark.

And he says Clark has not been specific in what “fair share” actually means.

Moore was speaking on the Bill Good Show on CKNW.
