The BC government has found more than two-million dollars worth of funding to subsidize this province’s film industry.
Most of the money is aimed at promoting the province to international film and television producers who may have forgotten Vancouver’s 30-year reputation as ‘Hollywood North.’
BC already provides generous tax breaks, but there’s growing competition from other provinces –namely Alberta and Ontario.
Last year, related spending in this province totaled nearly 1.2-billion dollars, marking a 16-per cent increase from 2010.
