More service cut information sought by Councillor

At least one Surrey Councilor is not to happy with the amount of information being revealed by Translink over impending service cuts.

Marvin Hunt says it is silly to issue a press release saying 34 routes will be affected by ‘service optimization’ and only list three specific examples.

Hunt says Surrey remains in the dark about what cuts, if any, are coming south of the Fraser, “Translink was at our Transportation Committee and I asked them specifically the question: “What is the affect on Surrey?” “What routes will be affected by this?” And the answer was, “I don’t have the information, I will bring it back to the next Transportation Committee meeting.” So, we don’t know and obviously the people they sent out, at least to Surrey, don’t know either.”

Hunt says Surrey has the least available transit per capita in Metro Vancouver.
