More than $20,000 raised for Abbotsford Food Bank

Christmas has come early for the Abbotsford Food Bank, after local businesses and fire and rescue services teamed up to raise over $ 20,000.

Steve Magown is a manager of one of the eight car dealerships that lead the Fraser Valley Automall Annual Food Bank Drive each December.

“It’s a big group. Every year it’s getting bigger, people are contributing and we’re making a difference in our community and that’s the main aim — to not see people in need as much as we’re seeing now.”

This season he estimates they’ve doubled last year’s haul of just over $ 10,000, thanks to contributions from participating dealers and the general public.
