Most ‘wanted’ not welcome here

Get out.

That’s the message being sent to 32 fugitives featured on the Canadian Border Services Agency’s expanded “Wanted” website.

Federal Public Safety Minister Vic Toews unveiled the site Thursday. It builds on the success the CBSA had tracking down war criminals by posting their images online for public identification.

“These are people who have been convicted of very serious crimes ranging from murder to drug trafficking,” Toews said.

Four men believed to be in British Columbia are featured on the site.

U.S. citizen Marcs Thomas Brown (last known address is in Vancouver) is deemed inadmissible to Canada for a drug trafficking and firearm conviction.

Satpal Singh Jhatu of India was convicted of second-degree murder and aggravated assault. His last know address is in Port Coquitlam.

Also on the list are Xun Zhang of Richmond and Xiaoyu Wang of Coquitlam.

Groups such as Amnesty International have expressed concern for the risk the fugitives may face in their home country, but Toews said public safety is paramount.

The wanted lists can be found on the CBSA’s website at cbsa.gc.ca.
