Burnaby RCMP are looking for the driver of a dark coloured Honda CRV, involved in a hit and run Monday night.
Inspector Tim Shields says a cyclist was hit at around 11pm on Lougheed Highway.
“It’s an unusual case because we don’t know the identity of the suspect who sped away from the scene,” says Shields, “but we also don’t know the identity of the rider of the bicycle.”
Shields notes the cyclist didn’t have any identification on him, and no one has come forward yet to report a missing person.
That victim remains in hospital with fairly serious injuries.
Police are crediting another driver, travelling behind the CRV, for stopping and helping the injured cyclist — and also providing a description of the vehicle involved in the hit and run.
