It will be at least 2013 before a judge makes his decision whether or not to release more information surrounding the 6-million dollar pay-out of Dave Basi and Bobby Virk.
The two pleaded guilty in connection to the sale of BC Rail — with taxpayers picking up their legal costs.
Auditor General John Doyle is seeking access to documents covered by lawyer-client privilege, which would better explain why that decision was made.
MLA John van Dongen is an intervenor in the bid.
“The auditor general and his staff certainly seem very active on the file,” says van Dongen. “They are, I believe, prepared for any eventuality in terms of whenever the decision comes out.”
Lawyers will make their final submissions in early December.
