No sign of survivors after boat found overturned off Gibsons

The search for survivors from a boat found half-sunk off Gibsons has been called off.

Officials with the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre say emergency crews and other rescue craft hunted thoroughly, but found no sign of anyone in distress.

RCMP say they have no related reports of a missing person or stolen boat.

The 12-foot aluminum vessel is being towed now to the Sea Island Coast Guard base in Richmond.
