One woman dead, another injured, after collisions in Surrey

One woman is dead, another in very serious condition following two separate collisions in Surrey.

It was shortly after 3pm when a Volkswagen — driven by a 21-year old woman from Langley — collided with a semi truck at 104th Avenue and 156th Street.

“We’re investigating all the various aspects of this accident, but alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident.”

RCMP Staff Sgt. Blair McColl says the woman was taken to hospital where she died of her injuries overnight.

Meanwhile, a woman in her twenties is in “very serious condition” after being hit by a vehicle outside the T-Barz Strip Club on Whalley Boulevard.

“And in that particular case, we are investigating a driver for impaired driving.”

The collision happened around two this morning — closing time at the bar.
