The list of municipalities holding off on signing the new RCMP contract has dwindled down to just two.
The municipal observer the RCMP talks and Langley City Mayor Peter Fassbender says only Ladysmith and Squamish have yet to signal their intentions.
The Mayor of Squamish refused to talk to CKNW about the contract just last week.
And Fassbender says Squamish isn’t even returning the province’s calls with 48 hours to go before the firm deadline set by Justice Minister Shirley Bond.
Sources tell CKNW Squamish is unhappy about the costs of the new RCMP headquarters in Surrey.
As well as two other cost points in the new contract including legal advisory services.
Municipalities risk significant costs if they don’t sign and Bond has said there will be no more extensions.
