The Vancouver Park Board is hosting an open house Saturday on installing charging stations for electric cars.
The stations are proposed at three parking lots along Beach Avenue — at Broughton, Bute and Bidwell Streets.
They’d also have a cellular pole to increase cellphone capacity during crowded events.

“It’s really seeking support, or if there’s a lack of support, suggestions for alternate locations or modification.”
Several charging stations already exist elsewhere, including VanDusen Botanical Gardens.
The open house will take place from 1 to 4 pm at the Park Board offices.
Another is set for Monday night.
