A pedestrian was taken to hospital with moderate injuries after being hit by a car on 8th Street between 3rd and 4th Avenue in New Westminster just before 1am Sunday.
New Westminster Police Sergeant Todd Matsumoto says there were several witnesses on scene, but few details are known.
“The driver of the vehicle is cooperating, he remained on scene, and is speaking with police.”
Matsumoto couldn’t confirm if the pedestrian was jay walking, or whether speed or alcohol were a factor. He also was unsure whether the vehicle was a taxi.
