Pipeline townhall well attended

Several hundred people have turned out to a town hall meeting in the Premier’s riding of Kitsilano to oppose the proposed Kinder-Morgan pipeline.

The Wilderness Committee and Tanker-Free BC are just some of the organizations hosting the townhall that’s attracted hundreds.

Vancouver Park Board Commissioner Constance Barnes is one of the opponents, “Our job at the Park Board is to protect and preserve our beaches and foreshores. So, it’s very important that people know that we’re out there advocating, that we are against the pipeline.”

Barnes is slamming the Premier for saying she will not support the pipeline proposal unless Alberta sweetens the deal for BC. Barnes says this is not about money.
