Pitt Meadows man dies after falling 30 feet in northern BC town

A 24 year old Pitt Meadows man has died after making a fatal error while out for a jog.

The accident happened in northern BC, in Stewart, near the Alaska border, on Wednesday.

The RCMP say the young man was out for a run when he jumped over a concrete barrier to avoid a large truck.

Witnesses say it didn’t look like he realized there was a 30-foot drop on the other side.

Witnesses and responding paramedics applied first aid but the young man succumbed to his injuries.

Police are not releasing his name.
