Police: Mitchell planned killing spree

We’re learning more about the man at the centre of last week’s RCMP manhunt.

Evidence taken from the now-dead suspected murderer’s vehcile shows he had a “hit list.”

Homicide investigators say the names of six individuals and six businesses were on the list taken from Angus David Mitchell’s van, for conflicts dating back to 2009.

Sergeant Jennifer Pound says maps and phone numbers — even escape routes were also found in the van.

“We’re looking at potentially seven different areas throughout the Lower Mainland that he was going to potentially shoot people at.”

Police say the woman killed in a Burnaby sushi restaurant was on Mitchell’s list.

The gun used in that murder was seized by Victoria Police earlier this year, but was returned to Mitchell weeks later.
