Police officers earnings revealed

The same year Vancouver had a riot, the city’s top cops got a pay raise.

In 2010, Police Chief Jim Chu made 311-thousand dollars. In 2011, he got a 3-thousand dollar upgrade, and earned 314-thousand.

The Department’s next top earner last year was Deputy Chief Doug Lepard. He earned 223-thousand, down 15-grand from the year before. Lepard wrote the report into the VPD’s handling of the Robert Pickton file.

Inspector Les Yeo, in charge of the Stanley Cup riot investigation, earned 167-thousand, an 18-thousand dollar raise from the year before.

And Media Officer Lindsey Houghton took home nearly 119-thousand.
