Port Moody records third fatal shooting since May

A 32-year-old man has now died after he was shot this morning in Port Moody.

Police say it happened around 10 a.m. at Wallace Wynd and Ailsa Avenue in the Glenayre neighbourhood.

The man was known to police. He was taken to hospital in critical condition, but later died.

Vancouver police now take over the investigation because Port Moody does not have a homicide squad.

Officers have no suspects yet.

It’s the third fatal shooting in the city since May.

Bin  Toor, a 35-year-old gangster from the Duhre group, was shot dead outside the Port Moody Recreation Centre in May.

And a founding member of the Independent Soldiers gang, Randy Naicker, was fatally shot outside a coffee shop at Queens Street, just off St. Johns, in June.
