The North Fraser Pre-trial centre is under lockdown.
The BC Government and Service Employees Union says two pipes were found concealed in mattresses yesterday.
This morning, the jail guards were going to exercise their right to refuse dangerous work under the Worker’s Compensation Act, but instead management put the jail under lockdown.
No word how long it will last.
