Premier battles Coast Guard decision

The Premier won’t be joining the Opposition Leader to fight the closure of the Kitsilano Coast Guard Station.

That’s because Christy Clark says her government’s already pushing back against the decision.

NDP Leader Adrian Dix feels a united front’s needed to get the message to Ottawa that the closure’s not acceptable.

Premier Clark says her government’s already in touch with the feds asking they re-consider the decision.

Clark says when balancing the budget the federal government should minimize the impact on regions and look for savings elsewhere.
