Premier Christy Clark has released a written statement calling Kevin Falcon the hardest working finance minister in the country.
Clark praises Falcon for keeping BC on a strong fiscal footing with a triple “A” credit rating, and says she understands how hard it can be to balance family and public life.
Clark has appointed Attorney-General Shirley Bond as acting finance minister.
Falcon is leaving bc politics with kind words for his boss.
And he says any tension between a premier and finance minister just comes with the territory, and is to be expected.
“Any good finance minister and any good premier are going to agree on a lot of things and disagree on some things. That is just normal. There is a going to be tension…there always has been”
Falcon says Clark also backed him up when tough decisions had to be made.
“She has backed me in putting forward a budget that received very very strong reviews in the financial markets, investment community, small business community”.
Falcon was speaking on the Bill Good Show on CKNW.
