Premier defends ad campaign

One week after the BC government announced it was cutting back on discretionary spending, Premier Christy Clark is explaining why that doesn’t include the advertising budget.

The Premier is all over TV these days in paid advertisements promoting her government’s jobs plan.

She says the ads are important for consumer confidence.

“And people, I think, need to know that BC is doing relatively well in a sea of uncertainty because i don’t think everybody knows that and..

REPORTER JORDAN ARMSTRONG: but why should taxpayers be paying to promote you, why not the party?”

“Well, if you look at the ads, you’ll see that they are very non-partisan ads.”

Clark was speaking in Richmond after announcing 36-million dollars for the Chip Wilson School of Design at Kwantlen University.
