Premier Christy Clark is offering prayers and support to the Prince George residents as they recover from the devastating explosion and fire at the Lakeland sawmill that left one dead last night.
Clark paid tribute to the city in the legislature Tuesday.
“I also want to commend the countless first responders, the volunteers, the health care workers, who rushed to the scene to see what they could do to help. They are all heroes who risked their personal safety to save fellow community members.”
She also urges British Columbians not to jump to conclusions about the cause of the blast, even though Worksafe BC is looking at combustible sawdust as a possible factor.
