Premier vows to “stay the course”

Premier Christy Clark says jobs will remain her primary focus in the new year.

In a year end interview with CKNW, Clark vowed to stay the course as she attempts to lead her BC Liberals to a come-from-behind election victory in May.

Clark seems optimistic despite bad poll numbers, saying that trite old line is true: the only poll that matters is on election day.

“You know the only day, really, that people ask themselves that question with such force, is the day that they vote.”

Clark says voters will stick with the Liberals because of its record on jobs and the economy.

“We deliver on the jobs plan, we keep doing what we’re doing.”

The Premier hopes that focus on jobs will help overcome the gender gap that sees women flocking to the NDP.

“Women are just as concerned as men are about what kind of a future we’re going to build for our kids.”
