There were luckily no injuries, but the wall around a pub patio in Surrey is badly damaged after being hit by a police vehicle Friday.
Sgt. Murray Hedderson says at about 3:30 in the afternoon, a Surrey RCMP vehicle was travelling east in the right lane in the 13400 block of 72nd Avenue.
“When a silver Pontiac Sunfire which was travelling in the faster, left lane, beside the police vehicle, suddenly changed lane and collided with the police vehicle, forcing the vehicle to the right.”
The RCMP vehicle went over the curb and hit the wall around the patio of the Robin Hood Pub.
The Pontiac kept going.
No one was on the patio, and no one else was injured.
The driver of the Pontiac–who is in his seventies–has been located.
He has not been taken into custody and no charges have been laid.
If you witnessed the collision, you’re asked to contact Surrey RCMP.
